On Saturday 5th September 2026 I will be taking part in the longest swim in England - Lake Windermere end to end - to raise money for LEVEL WATER.
I love swimming!
I also love that my children love swimming. They have benefitted from having some amazing swimming teachers (special shout out to Paula at the Nuffield!) and we're fortunate that this has been so easily accessible.
The charity LEVEL WATER states the following:
Swimming for children with disabilities is the biggest unmet need in sport. The water takes your weight; it’s a true leveller. It relieves pain and offers freedom and independence that many of our children never experience elsewhere
Their work is to ensure that every child with a disability can access facilities where they can swim, to develop strength, mobility and co-ordination to develop their confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.
Level Water is a fantastic charity, and uses the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities.
