Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
To celebrate my 60th birthday this year, starting on May 23rd, I am going to be attempting to cycle across the USA.
The trip is organised by a charity called the Fuller Center, who are involved in building homes for the homeless. Roughly one day a week, over 10 weeks, we will be working on one of their building sites which are dotted along the route. The trip will take 10 weeks, pass through 12 states and cover a total of 3,800 miles. (If you Google Fuller Center, Florida to Florence Cycle, it will tell you all about it.)
You can make a donation in dollars direct to my Fuller Centre fundraising page https://my.fullercenterbikeadventure.org/Race/178868/Donate/iom4512vSgCsKUyl
I am keen to support a local charity as well and hope you might be able to help.
Befriend a Child is a registered charity who support children and young people living in difficult life circumstances across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire through 1:1 and group befriending and mentoring programmes and projects.
Befriend a Child was formed in 1975 by two women on the children’s panel who saw a gap in the support children were receiving between hearings. They saw the potential benefit of offering a child one to one support through a positive adult role model who could spend time with a child and help take their minds away from the challenges of their home life.
Over the years Befriend a Child’s provision of programmes and projects has grown and today we support approximately 250 children annually. We do this through our 1:1 befriending and mentoring programmes as well as our family support project and group activities/projects across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.
Please give whatever you can for these very worthy charities. Every little makes a massive difference.
