Story
Hunt & Coombs Solicitors have chosen Young Lives vs Cancer as their Charity of the Year and in March I will be taking on the Cambridge Half Marathon in support this vital charity— a charity that now holds a deeply personal place in my heart.
This past year has been one of the hardest of my life. I lost my dad to cancer this year, a loss that reshaped everything I thought I understood about strength, resilience, and love. Only a short time later, I welcomed my first child into the world — a moment filled with joy but also a deep sadness knowing my dad never got the chance to meet his grandchild.
Grief and new life arriving so close together is something I’m still learning to navigate. But it has also made me more determined than ever to support those facing the unimaginable far too early. YoungLives vs Cancer helps children and young people with cancer, as well as their families, offering practical, emotional, and financial support during a time when everything feels overwhelming.
Running this half marathon is my way of honouring my dad’s memory and channeling the grief of this year into something positive. It’s also a way of standing alongside families who are going through their own battles — families who need support, hope, and someone in their corner.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world to me. Every contribution helps Young Lives vs Cancer continue their incredible work and gives families facing cancer the support they desperately need.
