2023 1x10x100 Challenge

2023 1x10x100 Challenge · 24 June 2023
I saw the look in my Dad's eyes when it was confirmed that Kim the Nurse could be there overnight again to look after Mum and I will never forget it.
A look of gratitude and deep emotion that someone else was able to help him and our family during the last days of his wife's (and my mother's) life.
Having a trained professional who is able to provide support to cover those late dark nights when you are exhausted and need some sleep is a godsend. The nurses at Marie Curie and so many other amazing charities do such an amazing job and without them, looking after loved ones who are dying would be so much harder.
It's 2 years since my mum passed away but my admiration and appreciation for the amazing work Marie Curie do remains as strong as ever.
They were incredible in my family's time of need and I know with support and help, they can continue to be there in case your family needs them.
Raising money for brilliant charities is why the 1x10x100 Challenge was started and on 24th June 2023, I will be doing the 1 mile swim, 10 mile run and 100 mile bike ride again. All in 24 hours. Starting at 530am and finishing at 830pm!
It is tough, it is 17 hours of hard exercise in 1 day that pushes you to your limits but it's worth it if it helps another father, mother, son or daughter get the support they so desperately need to look after someone who is dying.
I will appreciate any support but more importantly, I know for sure that a family in the future (not sure who or where) will be eternally grateful that a Marie Curie nurse could be with them in their time of need.
Thank you for your support. It means the world.
