Shaw Trust is a leading employment charity. We support young people to realise their potential, we help people find and keep meaningful jobs, we provide education and training for those starting out and those looking to progress in their jobs, and we improve community health and wellbeing.

Story

Earlier this year I set myself a target to complete all 3 of the "London Classics" (after being informed that one alone was not impressive enough!).

For those less familiar this includes;

Swim Serpentine (3.2km swim)

London Marathon (42.2km run)

Ride London (161km cycle)

I'm doing this to raise money for the incredible work Shaw Trust in supporting young, disadvantaged people to realise their potential.

Their work is far reaching:

From being the UK's biggest charitably owned children’s home provider to supporting people with training and coaching to help them find employment and also working in partnership with local authorities, to support thousands of children and young people to better navigate turning points in their lives and ensure their health and wellbeing.

Every donation will have a huge impact on the work they do and support they can provide (and will also serve as additional motivation for my 5am training sessions in winter).

Thrilled to announce I completed Swim Serpentine in September and training for the London Marathon (April) is underway. Frustratingly Ride London has been cancelled for this year, so instead I will commit to finding a similar cycling challenge in the interim and do Ride London next year as well!
