In August 2022, my daughter who was 3, sustained a life changing injury. She was paralysed from the neck down. After being blue lighted to LGI, they informed us that she will be in hospital for a while. That stay lasted for 10 weeks. We then travelled 4 hours down south where she stayed in a specialist hospital for another 5.5 weeks.

During the stay in Leeds, we were very lucky to have been given a room at Eckersley house which is directly across from the hospital. They provided a room for Mark, Albia and I to sleep in, a communal kitchen and a bathroom free of charge. I have no idea what we would have done without this fantastic charity. It’s was such a stressful and emotional time in our life and knowing we were just a short walk away from Thea made it just that little bit better!

So I’m taking on this challenge to hopefully raise enough money for at least another family to stay there free of charge in their time of need. I would very grateful for any donation, big or small. Thank you!
