I’m Jamie - a marathon runner, a new dad, and someone with a good cause close to my heart.

In January 2025, my wife Sarah and I welcomed our son Finlay into the world. Just 10 days later, he was admitted to the Special Care Baby Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich. The care he received was extraordinary, and we’ll be forever grateful to the team who looked after us all.

Soon after, Finlay was transferred to Evelina London Children’s Hospital for specialist care. From the moment we arrived, we were met with compassion, expertise, and unwavering support - from nurses, doctors, physios, therapists, dieticians, play specialists, and administrators. It was one of the most uncertain times of our lives, and together with family and friends, the Evelina team stood beside us every step of the way.

One week later, Finlay was discharged - but our journey with Evelina continues. We attend regular appointments, and their ongoing commitment to his health, development, and wellbeing means the world to us. Our fundraising is also inspired by the extraordinary support we receive from Oxleas NHS community teams and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich, who work in partnership with Evelina.

Now, over a decade since my last marathon, I’ll be toeing the start line at the London Marathon once more - this time to support Evelina. Every mile I run is for the babies and children who need urgent care, and for the families who walk through Evelina’s doors hoping for answers.
