Game, Set… Marathon! Running for Southwold Tennis Club

Jamie Bretton is raising money for Southwold Tennis Club

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

We have permission to replace our dilapidated portakabin with a clubhouse designed for the 21st Century. With a new lease and a growing membership of over 200 players of all ages, you’ll be supporting our tennis club to maximise its ability to have a much bigger impact in the community.

Story

I’m trading in my racquet for running shoes and will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for Southwold Tennis Club, helping to complete our new clubhouse. The clubhouse will provide much-needed facilities for members, non-members, and future generations of players, including a community room that will be open to the wider community.

A huge amount has already been raised, but we still need additional funds to finish the project.

Southwold Tennis Club has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It’s where I first picked up a racquet, but it has given me so much more than just tennis. The club has helped build my confidence, shaped who I am today, and supported me on my journey into tennis coaching.

Over the years I’ve made friendships for life and been part of a welcoming, supportive community that has always encouraged me to develop both on and off the court. It’s a very special place to me, and to so many others.

Running the London Marathon is my way of giving something back to a club that has given me so much.

If you are able to support me, any donation – no matter the size – will help us finish the clubhouse and secure the future of Southwold Tennis Club for years to come.

Thank you so much for your support.
