Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Myself, Ross Gibson and Kyle McLean are taking part in the Edinburgh half marathon to raise money for STAND(Striving Towards A New Day), which is a charity close to me. Some of you may know that Erin’s Mum was diagnosed at 49 years old with early onset Alzheimer’s disease.
STAND (Striving Towards A New Day) is a fantastic group of people living with dementia and their families and friends. The group is based in Fife, Scotland. STAND is part of the DEEP Network (Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project) which is a network of similar groups across the UK, calling for people living with a dementia diagnosis to be heard and able to influence what matters to them in their lives. STAND adopted the hippo as our symbol as there is a part of the brain called the Hippocampus that is often affected by dementia. Glenrothes, in Fife, also has a significant number of hippos as part of the town art.
We would love if you would support us in our run by donating what you can to help such an amazing charity. Thank you in advance 🏃🏼💜
