Story
In the month of March, I’ll be running 310k to raise money for the Lewis Project.
The Lewis Project, based in Sevenoaks, Kent, was founded in January 2015 by Michele Grace and Sandra Boxall in memory of Michele’s son, Lewis Murrell, a talented musician. Inspired by their sons' experiences within the mental health sector, they recognised a need for a community music hub where young people could come together, share experiences, and create music. The project offers a welcoming space with musical instruments, workshops, and opportunities for group tuition, all run by volunteers at The House in The Basement, located at the Stag Theatre.
Believing in the power of music as a universal language and a tool for promoting mental well-being, The Lewis Project aims to provide a supportive environment where young people can express themselves, build confidence, and form lasting friendships. The founders have witnessed first-hand the positive impact of this initiative and advocate for every town to offer a similar music center to support young people's mental health.
