Continuing a trend of running in memory and honor of friends who have passed, I'm running this race for Dave Audo.

Dave was a great friend during my formative years as an undergraduate at U of I. As one of my first studio friends, we participated in all sorts of shenanigans from midnight hallway chair races to occasional visits from his pet ferrets. Dave was always smiling and quick to pass his joy to others.

After graduation Dave served in the US Army and was stationed in Afghanistan leaving his wife Rebecca and two young kids during deployment. Dave never made it home.

As part of their services, this charity supports military families while their loved ones are deployed and vets who need assistance with mental health. I can't think of a better way to honor Dave.
