Story
I’m taking on Ironman Kalmar, Sweden, on 16th August to raise money for Devon Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Services, a small yet vital local charity offering support to children and adults affected by sexual violence and abuse across Devon.
This charity is so important for so many people, and is deeply personal to me. Supporting this cause feels like a meaningful way to give back and help ensure others can access the support they need when they’re going through their own challenges.
An Ironman is 140-miles of swim, bike, run: a 2.4‑mile swim, 112‑mile bike ride, and a full 26.2‑mile marathon run—all completed non-stop, back‑to‑back. For me this likely means 12 hours of grind, making it both a physical and mental challenge.
This event is also the culmination of a nearly five‑year journey of huge personal growth, including 40kg+ of weight loss.
Here’s how your donations make a difference:
• £280 funds six trauma‑stabilisation sessions for one person
• £650 funds twelve therapy sessions
• £1,120 pays for a six‑week group support course
• £280 supports one‑to‑one advocacy services (legal or medical guidance)
Every donation (big or small) helps provide counselling, advocacy, and group support for survivors across Devon. Thank you so much for supporting me and this important cause.
