Story
I have decided to embark on my biggest challenge to date, which will see me running 6 Marathons in 12 months!
The 6 Marathons I will be challenging myself to complete are all 'Abbott World Majors,' and will see me travelling afar to the likes of Sydney, Australia and Tokyo, Japan.
The challenge will start with London Marathon in April 2025, followed by Sydney in August, Berlin in September and Chicago in October, Tokyo in March 2026 and finishing on home soil with London in April. Albeit this challenge will see me running 6 Marathons in 12 months, Sydney, Berlin and Chicago will be ran all within a 6 week period!!
I am also personally self funding all travel and accommodation costs for this challenge, so all money raised will be going directly to Make A Wish and making a difference.
This challenge is to raise much needed funds for Make A Wish UK who grant life changing wishes for the thousands of critically ill children across the UK. Sadly, the number of wish enquiries from seriously ill children with less than a year to live is rising fast. They need help to meet this urgent demand now - before it’s too late. For families with critically ill children, every day counts. Your support and contribution to this fantastic cause has the power to make a wish come true for a critically ill child, allowing families to create lasting memories that they will treasure forever, no matter what the future holds.
After a fantastic amount of support during my 2024 charitable endeavours, raising an incredible £6,540 through generous donations and support, and seeing first hand the difference a wish has to not only the child but their entire family and support network, I have decided to to it all again in 2025/26 with the addition of 5 other Marathon Majors. During my London Marathon 2025 charitable endeavours, I raised a further £3,417. Thats nearly a total of £10,000 going to a great cause so far.
It is said on average it costs £2,500 to grant a single wish. I have therefore set my fundraising goal for my next, and current challenge at £10,000 which will aim to make 4 children's wish's a reality. If we can surpass this figure and provide additional wish's that would be a fantastic achievement.
Sophie and I will also be contributing towards this fantastic cause personally, starting the fundraising off with a £2,000 personal contribution as we have done with all other charity endeavours, to show our own support to this great cause.
Your added support and contributions as always, are greatly appreciated :)
