Story
On Sunday 28 June 2026, a group of friends will walk from Chichester to Birdham to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Tragically, our childhood friend Jamie has been diagnosed with MND — a life-shortening neurological condition that affects the nerves controlling movement. The disease causes progressive muscle weakness, which can impact a person’s ability to walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe.
Following the shock and heartbreak of this diagnosis, the Motor Neurone Disease Association has provided incredible support to Jamie, his wife and their children. From practical advice and emotional support, to guidance on home adaptations and providing a wheelchair to help Jamie maintain his mobility, the charity has made a huge difference. Thanks to their support, Jamie can still get out to watch the kids play football and spend valuable time with family and friends.
Please support us in raising money for this amazing charity, which is working tirelessly to improve lives today and, one day, find a cure for MND — so that no other family has to go through this.
All donations will be sent to the Reading & West Berkshire MND Branch.
