Story
Jamie is taking on an amazing 500‑mile challenge to raise money for St John Ambulance Yorkshire Dales.
Starting on St John’s Day (24 June 2026) and finishing the day before his 24th birthday, Jamie will complete 500 miles — the distance from Starbeck to St John’s Gate in London and back — through tandem cycling with his dad, swimming and some rowing.
Jamie has Koolen‑de Vries syndrome, learning difficulties, epilepsy and kyphoscoliosis. Coordination and muscle tone can be a challenge, but his enthusiasm is huge, and he’s determined to take this on. He communicates through gestures and his adaptive iPad and is very excited to ride his tandem.
St John Ambulance has supported Jamie since he was a Badger, then a Cadet, and now a member of the St John Fellowship. This challenge is his way of saying thank you for years of inclusion, encouragement and support.
Every donation helps Jamie reach his goal and supports the incredible work of St John Ambulance.
Thank you for cheering him on.
