Story

Pete was an amazing man. He was a fantastic teacher, a true gentleman and an all round good human. I learned so much from him both in terms of physics and also how to be a good human being. He was gentle, kind and hardworking always putting others above himself. He had a fantastic sense of humour and saw wonder in the world around him.

Pete dedicated decades of his life to working with children. He loved to run and was good at it, always humbling those who knew him with the distances he ran! He often joked that he only ran the distances to justify his appetite!

Sadly Pete died in February from a rare neuroendocrine cancer of the pancreas. I am running (jogging…walking?) the Thames Path Ultra Challenge on September the 14th/15th. This is a 100km run along the Thames path. I believe Pete ran this a few years back and I can’t think of a better way to honour his memory.
