About Me and My Team

Hi, I'm Jamilah, Co-Founder of MAJ Digital. Next month, on the (hopefully not too chilly night) of October 23rd, I'll be sleeping outside at Emirates Old Trafford CCG, alongside Anne-Marie (my incredible co-founder and veteran sleep-out participant) and our compassionate team at MAJ Digital.

Why This Matters to Me

Last year was a wake-up call for me. I faced some extreme challenges that brought me uncomfortably close to homelessness, before participating in my first sleepout (which gave me a glimpse of what sleeping rough is really like). When winter temperatures dipped to -9 degrees celsius, the reality of what people endure on the streets became even more vivid. That's when I decided that this cause was something I wanted to actively engage with.

Why We’re Participating

Anne-Marie, myself, and the MAJ Digital team are not just sleeping out for a single night for the experience - I can assure you it’s not fun! Your joints ache because of the cold and if it’s damp, it’s even more uncomfortable. We're doing it to support local charities in our communities that help people avoid sleeping rough, stay safe on the streets and keep families together. While it's just one night for us, it's a lifetime for others, and every bit of support counts.
