Story
My daughter’s friend, Emily, is one of 35 teenagers from Chester and District Scouts group who are aiming to visit Spartan Explorers in Norway for a week of adventures this August.
They just have the small task of raising £39,000 to fund the adventure - they’ve already done so many amazing things to raise money for the trip and are approximately 85% on the way to meeting the target (charity events, car washes, roller disco’s, etc, etc).
I wanted to give them a helping hand by raising funds by doing another challenging cycling event.
This May I will be participating in the Fred Whitton cycling challenge in the lake district. This is no ‘walk in the park’ and is considered by most to be the toughest cycling event in the UK.
The one-day Fred Whitton cycling event covers 143km with 10,400ft of ascent & traverses over some of the most challenging hill climbs in the UK including Kirkstone, Honister, Newlands, Whinlatter, Hardknott & Wrynose and Blea Tarn passes: Fred Whitton Challenge | Britain's Premiere Sportive
Please give whatever you can to help the scouts on the way to success so they can enjoy a well-earned adventure this August.
