KAPOW! Meet our unstoppable Superhero Jan “Glaister”, ready to roll into action at this year’s Superhero Tri on 16 August – and she’s doing it all to raise funds for White Lodge, her incredible HQ for therapy, strength, and independence.

Jan’s superhero origin story is one of pure resilience. After a life-changing spinal injury left her paralysed from the waist down, this former firefighter (yes, you read that right!) wasn’t about to let anything extinguish her spirit. Since reconnecting with White Lodge a year ago, Jan’s been charging up her strength in weekly 1-to-1 therapy and bike group sessions, often standing tall in a frame like the warrior she is.

Out in the world, Jan zooms to her appointments in true superhero style – with a motorbike-style attachment on her wheelchair, no less – all while supporting a much older friend she lives with. Whether it’s fitness, freedom, or fierce independence, Jan brings it all.

Now, she’s suiting up for the Superhero Tri, where inclusivity powers the mission and every Superhero can take on the challenge their way, with Sidekicks and support at their side. Jan’s ready to cycle, roll, and POWER through the course with White Lodge’s cheering squad by her side!
