Story
Later this year, during the summer of 2026, I will be travelling to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Alongside three colleagues from Bayes Business School, I have volunteered to take part in this journey with the aim of supporting Helping Hanna’s Community, a community-based project that cares for children in need. Our goal is to provide essential necessities for these children, while also teaching them basic English for two weeks at a local summer school. One of my responsibilities as part of this trip is to raise funds that will go directly to families in need. I would be deeply grateful for any form of support.
I decided to volunteer because making a difference in people’s lives is deeply important to me, and it feels meaningful to give back to society in this way. At the same time, I believe it represents only a small part of what I can give back in recognition of the safety, education, and healthcare that many of us are fortunate to receive. Supporting those in need has always been a core value in my family, and I hope this journey will have a positive impact on the families supported by Helping Hanna’s Community. I am particularly keen on the two-week English lessons we will be teaching, as they can help provide these children with better opportunities for employment and a brighter future.
Why would you contribute to Helping Hanna’s Community?
- To help families in need access basic necessities and opportunities.
- To make a direct, meaningful difference in children’s lives.
- To support long-term change through education and community care.
