Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm climbing the biggest mountain I think I can manage - Kilimanjaro! I am doing this to help support people facing their own challenges and their own mountains every day.
The Lantern Trust is an independent registered charity that was founded in 1983 to help vulnerable and marginalised people in the Weymouth and Portland area.
They aim to bring a lasting change in people’s lives through our dedicated service; meeting people’s practical, emotional, and personal aftercare needs. Their ethos is one of social inclusion, aiming to break cycles of disadvantage and dependency.
Working closely and professionally with other agencies is a key aspect of the Lantern’s work. Their customers have a varied range of personal concerns including mental health problems, offending behaviour, addiction, homelessness, and all personal crises. The Trust aim to meet these needs through a wide range of services including advocacy, crisis response, front line practical assistance and welfare benefits, housing and accommodation support and help through the Lantern Trust’s assisted rent deposit scheme.
The Lantern Trust empower the individual and always encourage personal choice and responsibility. The building of lasting trusting relationships with their customers is the foundation on which their amazing work is built, the Lantern continues to be a place where laughter, friendship and hope are very apparent.
All the money raised is going to The Lantern - none to the trek expenses.
