Story
NRAS will be celebrating their 25th anniversary in October 2026, providing a vital lifeline for the 450,000 people living with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and the 10,000 children and young people affected by juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) across the UK. Both RA and JIA are devastating, lifelong autoimmune conditions with no current cure. To honor this incredible milestone, I am proud to take part in the #Takeon25 Challenge for NRAS's 25th Anniversary.
As part of this sporting challenge starting on 1 June 2026, I will be visiting 25 cafes or joining friends for matcha—each moment captured in a photograph—celebrating the magic number 25 and the amazing support NRAS has provided me since my diagnosis eight years ago. From their helpline and publications to emotional support and guidance, NRAS is the only patient-led charity dedicated to those living with rheumatoid arthritis. Their compassionate team helps us navigate life’s unpredictable symptoms and challenges.
My journey has been long and difficult, involving twelve medications and many health struggles along the way. Yet thanks to NRAS’s unwavering support, I continue to face each day with hope despite ongoing flares. I am deeply grateful for any contributions you can make to this remarkable cause.
Please donate whatever you can to support me in this challenge and help NRAS continue changing lives across the UK. Your generosity means so much:
- £28 funds a personalised Right Start call for someone newly diagnosed with RA
- £55 helps campaign for better treatment
- £183 provides 300 information booklets offering practical advice about RA
- £204 supports six helpline calls for those struggling
- £250 gives access to our interactive self-management portal for fifteen people
Together we can make a difference. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
