Story
I used to like running...but I haven't managed more than running for my train in recent years. So I decided to pull the trainers back on and discover just how hard it was going to be to do Couch to 5k [conclusion - very hard].
I'm partly doing it because being CHSS CEO I talk a lot about the importance of physical activity - and I was starting to feel like I wasn't really living that message - and because my family has been affected by stroke and heart conditions both in the past [my Papa] and very recently [my in-laws] and I wanted to do something for that.
So I'm 'running' the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 5k on Saturday 24th May.
If you're thinking I am a bit late with the fundraising, you're not wrong. But as I couldn't even run between two lampposts just over a month ago, I was pretty convinced I would not be turning up on the 24th. As always, whatever you can give is brilliant, and this is hopefully a small step towards a bigger running challenge.
In fact, if I reach the £250 target I've set myself I will run the Great Scottish Run 10k in October
. Then you get to see me endure more pain and raise more funds for CHSS - what more motivation could you ask for?!
