In April 2026, I will be taking on the huge challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for a special cause. I am raising money for Shine in memory of our baby girl, Pippa.

In 2017, our first round of IVF was successful, and everything progressed normally, including our 12-week scan. However, at our 20-week scan, we were given devastating news: our baby had a severe neural tube defect. Her spine had not developed properly, leaving it exposed, and she also had fluid on her brain.

We were given time to understand what this would mean. The outlook was uncertain—she may not have survived birth, and if she had, she would have faced multiple, ongoing operations throughout her life. After much heartbreak, we made the incredibly difficult decision to end the pregnancy at 22 weeks.

This was an extremely painful time for us and our loved ones. Supporting Shine gave me something to hold onto, and now I want to give back. Every donation means so much, and will help support others facing similar experiences, as well as those living with spina bifida to have the best possible quality of life
