Breadline Africa, established in 1993 is a Cape Town based charity also registered with the UK Charities Commission. This non-profit org. is one of the biggest suppliers of converted shipping containers to support early childhood development and literacy projects in poor communities in South Africa.

Story

Jane Hardy is a Howick resident and Nature Notes correspondent for "The Bridge" Parish Council magazine.

Jane is also UK ambassador to Breadline Africa which provides infrastructure & initiatives to support childhood development in South Africa.

Heartbroken & deeply disturbed to hear of tragic loss of life when children as young as three years old fall into pit toilets and drown, Jane is appealing to people to donate in order for Breadline Africa to replace pit toilets with proper toilet facilities.

Masande Educare Centre is just one township pre school and whose existing toilet facility is simply not sufficient to accommodate all of their children.

Jane is therefore appealing to people to donate so they can recycle an old shipping container or provide a prefabricated facility
