Jane, Annie and friends are walking the 2023 London Bridgathon to raise funds for Haematology Cancer Care.

Some years ago Jane's normal life was brought to a sudden halt when she was admitted into UCLH with acute leukaemia. At the time it took some weeks for everyone to realise how unwell she was. Thanks to a stem cell donation from Jane's sister Annie her health recovered well.

During the second half of last year, some of the original leukaemia re-emerged and this was put into remission by a course of chemotherapy.

Throughout this journey and up to the present time, Jane, Annie and friends and family could not be more appreciative of the kindness and skill of all the team who cared for for her over this ongoing journey.

We all look forward so much to joining the wider community of HCC at the London Bridgathon this year.

HCC has a strong community of patients, families and staff who are committed to supporting haematological cancer treatments through fundraising activities and events. Uniquely, we are run by senior clinical staff working closely with all haematology teams and haematology patients ensuring donations make a significant impact on the services here at UCLH. We provide wide-ranging support including high-tech medical equipment and research projects, free complementary therapy for patients and families and specialist education for nurses across five inpatient wards, day-care, ambulatory care and young adult and outpatient services within haematology at UCLH. #loveHCC #HCCfamily #TeamHaem!
