Jane and Annie's London Bridgathon 2024

London Bridgathon 2024 · 8 September 2024 ·
Eight years ago Jane was diagosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and was in a life threatening condition. Her life was literally saved by treatment at University College Hospital. A while after this, it was found that Jane's sister Annie was a 10/10 stem cell match.. and the rest is history. Jane changed her blood group from O- to O+ and is alive and reasonably well and walking round with Annie's blood cells as her own.
Jane, Annie and friends have entered the London Bridgathon over the past years in appreciative support of the work of the associated Haematology Cancer Care. Over these years, Jane has benefitted directly from this charity, but also seen the considerable difference in makes in supporting all that the haematology staff are about at the hospital.
