Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Help Me Support Parkinson’s UK – London Marathon 2025

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I’m raising funds for crucial research and support for everyone living with Parkinson’s Disease. If you have loved ones affected by this condition, you’ll know it touches each person differently, but all require care, patience, and understanding.

The Challenge

I’m incredibly fortunate to have secured a place on the Parkinson’s UK team to run (and yes, there will be walking) the London Marathon on Sunday, April 27th, 2025. Good grief!

Last year, in 2024, I participated in the virtual London Marathon, walking around Tetbury with a friend. It took us 10 hours and 26 minutes—a day filled with snacks, rest stops, and friendship. We joked about how absurd it would be to actually run the marathon because, let’s be honest, it’s a very long way!

But as time passed and things continued to change for me, I decided it was time. Time to step out of my comfort zone and put my name in the hat for a place in the London Marathon, running for a cause that’s close to my heart—Parkinson’s UK. And here we are.

In 2025, I’ll be taking on the iconic London Marathon—my first-ever running marathon of any kind. I’ve done parkruns, 10Ks, and half marathons, always believing that a half marathon was my limit. But now, I’m pushing those limits for a cause that truly matters.

Over the next 8 months, I will be building up my fitness through cross-training, open water winter dipping, swimming, strength training, and yes, running my way to that start line in London—and onto the finish line.

I’m committed to doing everything I can to get myself ready for this epic challenge and will share my training journey with you. This will include pictures of me in sporting gear (sorry!), looking red-faced, encouraged, disheartened, scared and excited, and, I hope, each month a little more ready—both physically and mentally—for the marathon.

With an amazing group of friends to support me along the way and some fundraising efforts, I will get there—and dare I say it—even have fun.
