Story
I’m running two half marathons - the Kingston half marathon this Sunday 6th October, and the London Landmarks half marathon on 6th April 2025 to celebrate the incredible life of Kris and 15 years of Coppafeel! and would LOVE your support for this amazing charity.
Kris was diagnosed with cancer at just 23 years old and lived with cancer for 15 years before she died this year aged 38. Kris was always so happy, lived life to the full and I had the absolute JOY of spending so many great times with her in the early Coppafeel! years. I wish I had seen Kris more and I wish I had done these half marathons sooner, but it’s never too late to take on a challenge and I promise you Kris that I will a) finish these half marathons and b) raise as much money as I can for Coppafeel!.
I first met Kris 15 years ago whilst working for Cancer Research UK. One of my earliest memories with Kris was being part of the wonderful surprise when Little Britain’s Andy & Lou burst in to a ‘meeting’ we were in to tell Kris she had won a Pride of Britain Award. I’ll always laugh when I look back at the photos dressed up as a Kwik Fit Mechanic at Kris and Maren’s ‘K&M’ party, I actually loved that costume 😂 (lots of pics in the gallery ❤️).
Kris reached millions of people with her message of health advocacy and empowerment, to get your boobs checked and her own story has saved thousands of lives. She once said she was too busy to have cancer. She wanted to make the biggest impact with whatever time she had. The incredible work of Coppafeel! continues and the amazing team will continue Kris’ legacy ✨ 💩 ❤️. Remember to always check your boobs and speak up if you notice any changes. Visit www.coppafeel.org to find out more about their work oh and definitely buy Kris’ book ‘Glittering a Turd’ 🙂.
