Story
It's an absolute privilege to work at the hospice supporting the people of Hillingdon. I'm very biased as I see day in, day out the amazing work our teams do - with compassion, proactiveness and good humour in sometimes difficult circumstances. Our team offers a comforting and nurturing space for people to stay, both temporarily to gain support with symptoms, and to experience their last moments if this is their wish.
It's inspiring to see the way we personalise care - from our cuddlebeds which can accommodate more than one, to our chef preparing just what people need and want. Whilst we benefit from some NHS funding it is often surprising to people that this care relies largely on fundraising. With National Insurance uplift being a recent additional pressure we really don't need.
Whilst terrifying it's also an honour to take part in this event alongside many of our staff, community and supporters - for whom the hospice means a lot.
Any donation makes a real difference to the care we provide - thank you.
