Story
Hello everyone, I'm back again for my biggest challenge yet. After successfully summiting Mt Kilimanjaro and trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, I booked to climb Everest Base Camp in 2024 with some of my companions from the Kilimanjaro trek. However due to unforeseen circumstances my trip was postponed to November 2025. Little did I know at the time, in June 2025 I was at the top of the waiting list for a total hip replacement, this resulted in my Everest trip being postponed to April 2026, to allow me to fully heal and recover post surgery and give myself the best chance at success. Having had the all clear from the surgeon, I'm ready and raring to tackle the big one... Mount Everest Base Camp!!!
When I climbed Kilimanjaro, I raised £1400 for Marie Curie, I was, and am very thankful to all who donated and helped keep my motivation up during the toughest parts of the trek.
1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, and may find themselves in need of the care and services delivered by this fantastic charity.
Marie Curie is a charity working across the UK and needs our support to carry out their vital work. The service provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care. within the home and community hospitals.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I greatly appreciate anything you are able to donate. I'll post any updates on this giving page along the way, so stay tuned!
