Jan Edwards was my co-founder at Farplace Animal Rescue, my best friend and in my life for 33 years. She touched so many people's hearts, saved thousands of animals and gave advice 7 days a week at all hours to anyone with animal issues. Her entire life was a focus on animals and her love for them. She set up Farplace with me, from the first animal, Dolly the Goat, which we rescued well before the charity existed but as we first moved to Weardale, and in 2002 we started the organisation formally as a non profit. It grew and became a charity in 2008 and we have developed events, shops and more, buying a woodland for wildlife release. The trustees have decided to rename the Farplace Woodland Jan's Wood in her memory.

I know she never liked people making a fuss, sending flowers, etc, so this page is for anyone who knew her and loved her to be able to support what she founded and send their thoughts and love.

A light is forever gone from my life and a true animal warrior is now over the rainbow bridge with all the animals she has loved who have gone ahead of her.
