Story
I'm taking on Barts Hike for Health 2025 to support Barts Charity.
Barts looked after my beloved Karl following his heart operation in 2023, sadly he couldn't be saved, but the staff did everything they could and I will continue to support them in his memory.
I'll be taking on multiple events up to 100km throughout 2025, ending with the Hike for Health in September and hope to raise as much as I can for them and do Karl proud. Our daughter, Ruby, will be joining me on some of the shorter walks. She was only 11 when Karl died and has some fond memories of chasing pigeons around the fountain outside of St Barts the last time she saw him.
Barts Charity goes above and beyond for families in East London—funding pioneering research, supporting NHS staff, and helping to refurbish wards across the five hospitals of Barts Health Trust with state-of-the-art equipment.
But it’s not just about the big things. They also provide the small, thoughtful touches that make a difference—like phone charging stations in A&E or tote bags for families after a bereavement. Because in life’s toughest moments, the little things truly matter.
