Story
I am taking part in The Sparkle Walk to highlight the importance of how much it means to family and friends going through difficult times in their lives and any contributions to help making things a little more comfortable for people who find themselves in this position goes a long way no matter how big or small it would mean so much. Any act of kindness will mean so much to everybody and myself. You would be surprised knowing how much it actually means when you realise how much people do care and will help raise awareness.
The dedicated team of staff and healthcare professionals at the hospice aim to meet the unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of those with a life-limiting illness, and to help maintain their dignity. They provide specialist palliative care for people with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses, at all stages of their illness.
The hospice are not just focused on their patients either. They fully recognise that its also a difficult time for relatives, carers & friends and provide support for them too.
Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides its services free of charge to its patients and costs over £5.2million to run each year with just 17% of the funding we receive coming from statutory sources. The remaining 83% is raised from a range of fundraising activities and the support of our very generous local community in Cheshire.
