On 21 April, my daughter Ruth and I plan to take part in the Virtual London Marathon. Rather than joining thousands of runners in London, we will use the official smart phone app to follow our progress along local footpaths, roads and byways around Redhill, Reigate and Merstham until we have completed 26.2 miles. Last year when we did this, the app told us we’d met our goal as we walked up the road to our house, which felt very satisfactory.

We're undertaking this challenge, our third this year, to seek sponsorship to raise funds for Redhill Methodist Church. Like many Churches, Redhill Methodist is facing the financial challenge of increased maintenance and other costs, like heating, which are no longer met by its regular income. The Church Council is exploring different options for maximising its income and has asked members of the congregation to consider how they can contribute.

Please sponsor me and Ruth on our challenge to help Redhill Methodist Church raise the funds to keep going on its mission to support the local community through all the activities taking place in its facilities.
