We are in the process of raising money to replace the equipment in our Light and Sensory Room at Maes Ebbw Special School Newport. The equipment that we had was old and outdated and much of it was not working as it should. We hope to raise approximately £20k to re-furbish the room and bring it up to a modern standard. We want our pupils to be able to benefit from a Light and Sensory room that is designed to meet their needs well and gives them the best possible learning experiences.

Our new Light and Sensory Room would be designed to regulate how pupils react to the world around them through their senses. We want to create a space which allows the pupils to participate in a range of different sensory experiences. Providing an improved Light and Sensory room is really important in helping the pupils at Maes Ebbw who have a range of disabilities experience the pleasure of play, find comfort in their environment and improve their sensory processing skills.
