Story
From climbing rocks to growing a 2.7m sunflower… now it’s the 2027 London Marathon! 🌻🏃
I am used to challenging myself on rock faces and mountain trails, and this year I discovered a new outdoor adventure — gardening. I dug up part of the garden lawn and created my first veggie patch, growing sunflowers, tomatoes, courgettes, rosemary and spring onions. Somehow, my tallest sunflower has reached 2.7 metres!
I have found gardening surprisingly rewarding and grounding. My day job can at times be very stressful, so getting outside, growing and harvesting my own food gives me a chance to slow down and switch off.
That's why I am very happy to be chosen by MindFood charity and take on a different challenge in 2027, running the London Marathon! I aim to raise £2,000+ to support their work using gardening and nature to promote mental wellbeing.
Please help us to support the charity — every penny counts. And if you fancy joining me for a training run, you’re very welcome!
From growing sunflowers to growing the miles — let’s do this! 🌱
