Story
Burns and scalds are amongst the most harrowing and painfully injury that can happen to anyone. They can leave lifelong scars. We support and organise events and activities that bring together; children, their families and young adults from birth up to the age of 25 years old, following the trauma of a burn injury.
A burn injury is life changing and not only physically scaring it’s mentally scaring too. It’s a very traumatic experience, it’s isolating and daunting. Its such a lonely time dealing with the effects of scar management surgery, Family Burns Club organise day events and weekend trips for all burn survivors to meet eachother share stories and support eachother.
Burn injuries also affect the entire family, and coping with the aftermath can be overwhelming. Family meet-ups provide a supportive environment where families can come together, share their struggles, and learn from one another. The shared experiences create a strong bond among families, fostering a network of support. So getting people to meet every Sunday would be a good way to meet old and new friends from the club.
