This July, NYA Clinic will be holding a week-long fundraising event in celebration of my cancer-free anniversary and in support of the Bone Cancer Research Trust — a charity that’s incredibly close to my heart.

From Monday 21st to Saturday 26th July, we’ll be running:

On the 1st September 2008, at just 7 years old I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of primary bone cancer. My life changed overnight.

Since then, I’ve had a full replacement of my left femur with an endoprosthesis, followed by eight more surgeries to save my leg. It’s been a journey of strength, pain, resilience, and hope.

Bone cancer doesn’t just affect the body — it changes every part of your life. I’ve lost friends along the way, people I met during treatment who weren’t as lucky. That’s why I’m so passionate about raising awareness and funding for research — because lives can and must be saved.

The Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT) is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to fighting primary bone cancer. They fund life-saving research into kinder, more effective treatments — treatments that could mean fewer surgeries, fewer amputations, and more lives saved.

BCRT also provides vital support to patients and families and campaigns to ensure bone cancer is diagnosed earlier — giving people the best possible chance of survival.

Right now, research into primary bone cancer receives just 3% of the UK’s cancer research budget — and that’s simply not enough.
