Story
On Anti-Slavery Day, 18th October 2026, I will (hopefully!) be summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, the culmination of a six day trek.
I am doing this in support of International Justice Mission (IJM), an organisation that works to protect people in poverty from violence and slavery in 19 countries around the world.
My sister, Fazana, has been working for IJM for three years now and I am really excited to be taking on this adventure alongside her and other IJM supporters.
This trip begins by visiting IJM’s field office in Nairobi, Kenya, where I will have the opportunity to meet the team there and hear about some of the amazing work they are doing to combat police abuse of power and violence against women and children. So far, IJM and its local partners have brought hundreds of people to safety from violence in Kenya.
You can find out more about IJM’s work in Kenya here: https://www.ijmuk.org/our-work/police-abuse-of-power.
Wish me luck as I attempt to get to 5,895m above sea level (!) to raise funds for this important work. I would be so grateful for any contribution you are able to give. Thank you!
