The National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline is a charity run by the lovely Wendy Watson .

The charity provides crucial information and advice to individuals concerned about hereditary cancer risks.

Wendy and her team supports those dealing with genetic, psychological and medical implications of hereditary breast cancer.

This charity is very close to my heart as Wendy has been my life line during this difficult time.

When I was first diagnosed with BRCA2 in July 2025 - I was denied access to both preventative surgeries and screening from my local hospital.

This was an unbelievably difficult time for me and my family.

It was soul destroying receiving my high risk results, whilst being denied any help or support until I reached the minimum age of 40 (I’m currently 27.)

After being left in the dark for a few months, I decided to get a second opinion on my diagnosis, this is where I met Wendy!

Wendy welcomed me with open arms offering me instant advice and support.

Wendy sent my lab results to multiple professors who works alongside her charity. This confirmed my high risk diagnosis.

Since then, Wendy has worked tirelessly to help me get support, I not only deserve, but of which I am eligible for!

It shouldn’t take a cry for help or a second opinion to get the treatment me and so many others SHOULD be eligible for under the NHS..

I am so thankful and honoured to now be receiving the treatment I deserve under NHS in London - and this is all thanks to Wendy.

It is very important to me to fundraise for The National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline to keep the charity on its feet so other women in my situation can receive the same amazing care I have experienced.
