Help me go the distance for Cancer Research UK
On 6th September, I will be taking on the incredible challenge of running the South Coast Ultra Challenge—a grueling 100km ultra marathon that will push me to my physical and mental limits. Starting in Eastbourne, the route will take me on a brutal journey along some of the toughest terrain on the South Coast.
The course begins with the iconic Seven Sisters, a series of steep, breathtaking chalk cliffs. From there, I’ll be heading up to the South Downs, where the relentless hills will continue to test my endurance. After passing through Brighton, I’ll face even more hilly terrain as I head back into the South Downs, before making my way to the finish line in Arundel.
This is no ordinary marathon. At 100km, it’s more than double the distance of a standard marathon. To give you an idea of how tough it is, consider this: 100km means running over 62 miles—while scaling steep, demanding hills and navigating rugged, uneven trails. It’s a challenge that will require me to dig deeper than ever before, fighting through exhaustion and pain with every step.
But it’s not just about me. I’m doing this to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK, an organization dedicated to saving lives by funding life-changing research. The work they do is incredible, and your donation will help power that research to bring us closer to a world where cancer no longer takes lives too soon.
My running journey started in May of last year, and since then I’ve completed my first half marathon and I’m gearing up for my first marathon in just three weeks. But this ultra marathon? It’s on a whole new level. The 100km will test my body and mind in ways I’ve never experienced before, but I’m determined to give it my all because the cause is worth every ounce of effort.
For anyone who doesn’t run, let me put it into perspective: A marathon is already tough enough, and I’m going over twice that distance—on some of the most challenging terrain imaginable. But I’m not alone in this fight. The real challenge is what people living with cancer go through every day. Their battle never stops, and neither will I.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal and make every step I take count by donating to my JustGiving page. Your support will not only help me finish this challenge, but more importantly, it will help fund the groundbreaking research that brings hope to millions.
Thank you for your generosity—it means more than words can express.
