adidas Manchester Marathon 2024 · 14 April 2024 ·

We provide support packs to bereaved families affected by the loss/death of a baby. Packs contain a range of resources to help support even the youngest of family members through their grief. We aim to provide comfort and guidance during this difficult time and help families feel less alone.

Story

Members from RAF Waddington Air Wg Engineering are planning to virtually run / walk the 197 mile coast to coast route from St Bees to Robin Hood Bay during Feb and Mar. Each member of the team plan to complete the 197 miles as an individual which equates to over 3 miles running walking each day for the 60 days.

On top of this group event I will be running every day in January covering at least 5km per day. I will personally be conquering the Manchester Marathon for the 5th time (i must be a sucker for pain!). I have booked a local 10K and have aims to enter more events throughout the year having entered the ballot for the Great North Run.

Another goal I have set myself is to run over 1000 miles for the year having never done this before this is probably my biggest challenge and one I look forward to trying to complete!

Throughout all this I am hoping to raise money for a local charity Edison’s Light. They do a fantastic job supporting families going through miscarriage, stillbirth, TFMR & neonatal death. They supply hospitals with support packs, allowing those who are going through these hard times to get the support they need quickly

Anything you can provide small or large will be greatly appreciated by myself & the charity. It will help to support them in their mission to support families going through difficult times.
