To all my family, wonderful friends, valued colleagues, and everyone who knows me by face or name,

I am incredibly excited (and yes, a little nervous!) to share a personal challenge that means the world to me. On 25 July 2026, I will be joining an amazing group of individuals for the annual London to Paris Charity Cycle. This will be my first year participating in this inspiring event, and I feel genuinely proud, deeply honored, and truly blessed to be part of it.

This is not just any bike ride; it is a demanding three-day journey covering approximately 100km each day. We will push our physical and mental limits to raise funds for an incredibly worthy cause: UNIQUE (Rare Chromosome Disorder Support Group). UNIQUE is a vital charity that offers hope and support to individuals and families navigating the complexities of rare chromosome disorders.

For one of our colleagues, this event holds profound personal significance as their son lives with 15Q duplication syndrome. It was this powerful connection that inspired the creation of this annual ride. Every pedal stroke we take is a heartfelt tribute to the strength, resilience, and love of those affected by these unique conditions.

As a parent myself to four wonderful children, I have had my own personal experiences of countless hospital appointments filled with worry and stress while juggling treatment sessions over the years. While these journeys have been challenging, they've given me a profound appreciation and understanding for the immense difficulties families face when dealing with complex health conditions. I have come to understand that many carry invisible burdens no one else can see—and no one should have to face them alone.

For those who have shared their personal stories with me, know my deep commitment to help, support and offer guidance. Witnessing the invaluable work UNIQUE does for families grappling with rare chromosome disorders only strengthens my resolve. Their support is critical in easing isolation and providing hope to many.
