The Wales Air Ambulance Charity provides advanced life-saving emergency care for everyone in Wales, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are a ‘mobile emergency department’ that relies entirely on donations to keep our helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.

Story

For this years Airbus charity challenge we have nominated The Wales Air Ambulance Trust .

To raise money for this trust a group of 7 engineers from Airbus Broughton will be attempting to lift the weight of TWO A350 aircraft, the largest commercial aircraft manufactured in Broughton which weighs in ant a huge 310 tonne!

This will be achieved using the 3 conventional powerlifting disciplines.

Squat, Bench Press, & Deadlift

Each member will have you carry out 738 repetitions of 60kgs each totalling 5,167 reps! to equal the 310,000kg.

The challenge will be held at Total Fitness in Wrexham and once its started there's no stopping until the goal is achieved.

Some people challenge themselves with long distance walking, or even high mountains to climb, but these engineers have chosen strength and pain to raise money.
