This June, I’ll be taking on a once-in-a-lifetime overland adventure across Namibia and Botswana, covering more than 3,000km of rugged desert, wildlife reserves, and remote communities — all in support of the WOLO Foundation.

This journey is not just about the miles travelled – it’s about making a real difference to families facing one of life’s toughest challenges: cancer.

The WOLO Foundation helps families living in Sussex through their cancer journeys by offering practical help and emotional support to make daily life just that little bit easier. They work hand-in-hand with local businesses and communities to provide everything from cleaning and childcare, to therapy and family days out — supporting people from diagnosis, through treatment, and beyond.

🧡 1 in 2 people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That’s a stark reminder that life is precious. We need to make the most of it. We Only Live Once – WOLO!

This African challenge is also about pushing personal limits — ground camping in the wild, navigating tough terrain, and embracing local cultures. As an extra Namibia has 27 of the worlds most poisonous snakes and of course the most dangerous African animal - The Hippo.
