Story
Please Support Us
We are 18 middle-aged men in search of a purpose. Thankfully, we’ve found one that’s worth every early morning, every aching muscle, and every mile ahead of us.
What binds us are the 6am gym sessions, the shared love of rugby and cycling, and the sense that it’s time to do something that genuinely matters.
The Challenge
Over the weekend of 8th to the 10th May, we’ll be cycling a full loop from Milton Keynes, Gloucester, Bristol, Milton Keynes, built around two Premiership Rugby fixtures:
Milton Keynes to Gloucester
To watch Gloucester RFU vs Sale Sharks on Friday 8th May.
Gloucester to Bristol
To watch Bristol Bears vs Saracens at 17:30 on Saturday.
Bristol to Milton Keynes
Then one final push home on Sunday.
Three days. Three cities. A lot of sore legs. Even more questionable decisions.
But all for a reason we care deeply about.
Why We’re Doing This:
We are raising money for Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a brutal, incurable illness that has devastated lives across the rugby community and beyond.
We’ve been moved and inspired by the courage of players who have battled this disease, including Doddie Weir, Rob Burrow, Ed Slater, Joost van der Westhuizen and, more recently, Lewis Moody. Their stories have touched us deeply, not just as rugby fans, but as human beings.
But this ride isn’t just for the big names. It’s for every club player, every non-player, every family, every ordinary person who ever receives this life-changing diagnosis.
Some of us in the group have seen MND first-hand within our own families.
We know what it feels like to watch someone you love face something you cannot fix.
That helplessness stays with you and it’s why we’re determined to do something positive.
How You Can Help
We want to raise as much money as possible to support MND charities and the vital work they do. Every pound we raise will go directly to help fund research, care, support, and hope.
So please, dig deep for these old men, who are definitely old enough to know better, but stubborn enough to do it anyway.
Thank you for supporting us, supporting the cause, and helping us fight for those who can’t.
Every mile counts. Every donation counts even more.
