After needing an operation after my last challenge (Ultra marathon) I am back at it!! September 13th 2026 Jamie Farley (has daughter Annabelle who has AS) and I will be competing in Ironman Wales race which consists of 3.8km swim, 180km bike followed by a marathon.

So why….? It is one of the hardest Ironman races on the circuit and it will take a lot of effort and willpower to even finish the event. This is exactly why I am doing it as with my day to day life it takes a lot of effort and willpower to look after my 11 year old son Oakley who has Angelman Syndrome (AS).

Angelman Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder and symptoms are epilepsy, global developmental delays, sleep disorder, non verbal, autism and requires 24 hour care for their entire life. After my experience of caring for my son and realising the lack of knowledge and funding for even basic requirements such as trying to get into a nursery, I set up the charity The Little Angelman Trust ‘Little Angels’

Since the inception of the charity, we have been able to help other AS families with specialised equipment, physio therapy, speech devices and apps, respite care and home adaptations (wet room). The money that I am looking to raise from doing this challenge is to continue with the commitments of physio therapy sessions, respite care, home adaptations and also continue to expand the charity to be able to help new AS children and families.
