In memory of Liberty Challis

Live4Lib was created in memory of Liberty Challis, a bright, bubbly and kind-hearted 16-year-old from the Dudley area. Liberty was the kind of person who filled every room with laughter and energy. She loved football, music, and saying “yes” to new experiences – she was truly the life and soul of the party.

In November 2022, Liberty’s life was tragically cut short when a reckless driver lost control of a car during an illegal street racing meet in Oldbury. Liberty and her friend Ben Corfield were killed instantly. In an instant, two young lives were lost, and two families were left facing heartbreak that no parent or friend should ever have to endure.

Her parents, Andy and Tracy, and all those who loved her have spoken about the pain of that moment – but also about the extraordinary support they received from friends, family, and their community. They quickly realised that not everyone in the same situation has that kind of safety net. Many families are left to struggle alone in the days, weeks and months after such a devastating loss.
