On the 22nd November 2022 Oliver was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer. After several months of intensive treatment, he sadly lost his battle on 8th June 2024, age 11.

His Under 13s teammates at Paviors RFC have been fundraising for PASIC, who provide provide emotional, practical, and financial support to families of children and young people with cancer living in the East Midlands. PASIC have been a great source of support for Oliver and his family.
